Aurora Peoples Assembly
The Aurora Peoples Assembly is the legislative body of the Government of Athabasca, functioning as a multi-member assembly that consists of all Athabascan citizens in a liquid democratic fashion.
In accordance with the Revolutionary Constitution, its mission is to represent the common concerns, values, and opinions of the Athabascan people through the promotion of cooperation and prosperity.
Legislative Procedure
According to the Revolutionary Constitution, legislative power is exercised by the Aurora Peoples Assembly. The main purpose of the Assembly is to formally draft and propose bills for approval by the Federal Committee if collectively agreed upon, by majority vote, to be submitted to the executive. All Athabascan citizens, unless formally requested otherwise, are recognized as members of the Aurora Peoples Assembly.
The Federal Committee may dissolve the Assembly at any time, provided that the reason to do so aligns the provisions outlined in Title VII of the Revolutionary Constitution.
The annual session of the Assembly officially opens on the 14th of January of each year. Following this, the Assembly meets every third Monday of the subsequent month.
Members of the Aurora Peoples Assembly are able to form a Specialized Legislative Association to better collaborate on specific-interest concerns, though are required to hold party membership with the Social Cooperative Party.
